Poole Gig Club hosting their very first CPGA Regatta provided the ideal venue for the Jurassic Leagues Final regatta on Saturday 30th August.
The event was staged in some challenging weather with strong winds and torrential rain at times and ending in bright sunshine for the presentations.
A great call Poole, thank you for your brave weather decision.
Bridport were the overall winners of the day’s regatta with Swanage in second place with Langstone third. (Copy of scoreboard attached)
Swanage had victories in the U16’s and Men’s Supervets, Langstone the Men’s A and Mixed, Portland the Men’s B and Weymouth the Ladies Supervets with Bridport winning the remaining four Categories in a highly competitive days racing.
Each of the competing clubs sought to gain valuable category league winning points .
The final league and category table indicates just how close the Jurassic League has become over the past three years with just one point separating the top two clubs in the Juniors, Men’s A and Men’s B category league winners after six qualifying regattas.
For the third year running the leagues sponsors AEPLtd provided a fabulous range of trophies and medals which were presented to the winning crews by representatives of each gig club in glorious sunshine.
