Ocean to City  is an exceptional rowing race and festival which takes place in Ireland each year. It is a challenging long-distance race in the beautiful Cork Harbour, which attracts hundreds of eager competitors annually. Now in its 11th year, this all-inclusive rowing event incorporates everything from traditional wooden working boats, currachs, skiffs, gigs, sloeps, lifeboats, whalers, longboats, kayaks, canoes and contemporary ocean racing shells. With thousands of spectators each year, the race is a real flagship event for Cork Harbour – one of the largest natural harbours in the world.

Love being on the water? Looking for a new challenge? Why not join us on 30th May 2015 in Cork, Ireland? Ocean to City has four distances to choose from – 4.5km, 13km, 22km and 28km – all finishing to a warm welcome in Cork’s city centre!

Modelled on London’s Great River Race, start times are staggered with the slowest boat types leaving first, and the fastest boat types leaving last. With finishing times varying between 1:45 and 4:30hrs on the longer courses. Ocean to City is much more than just a race… it is a test of endurance, a personal challenge and a shared effort. It is Ireland’s very own harbour marathon, and a coming together of people who love an adventure!

This year’s Ocean to City  will take place on Saturday 30th May 2015 and we would delighted if you could join us! 

Registration will open at the start of February and special early bird deals, accommodation and transport offers will be available, so get in early! We have attached a small flyer and promotional video below for you and would be grateful if you could pass this on to other rowers.
