40th Anniversary Row For Mevagissey

As Mevagissey Rowing Club approaches its 40th anniversary next year, members are gearing up for an ambitious fundraising event: the Harbour to Harbour Row, taking place on Sunday, May 25th, 2025.

This event will not only celebrate the club’s milestone but also raise vital funds for a new boat while supporting two important local charities – the RNLI (Penlee) and the Fishermen’s Mission.

The row will cover approximately 50 nautical miles along the Cornish coast, divided into six challenging legs:

  • Newlyn to Cadgwith – 18.79 nm
  • Cadgwith to Gyllyngvase (Falmouth) – 13.43 nm
  • Gyllyngvase to Portscatho – 5.69 nm
  • Portscatho to Portloe – 4.15 nm
  • Portloe to Gorran Haven – 5.34 nm
  • Gorran Haven to Mevagissey – 2.6 nm

This will be the club’s biggest fundraising effort of the year, with a goal of raising £10,000, to be shared with the Fishermen’s Mission and the RNLI Penlee Life Boat.

Carrie Morris, Club Chair person said, “We are thrilled to mark our 40th anniversary with such a meaningful challenge. This event not only strengthens our community but also supports two crucial organisations that serve our coastal communities.”

Donations are welcome via the club’s JustGiving Page
