Despite not clinching a trophy themselves, Angie from Torridge expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction with the event, stating, “We may not have won a trophy today, though it was a close call. We had the most fantastic day filled with racing, sea shanties, a BBQ, and homemade cakes. The PA system was provided by the Over and Above charity, and both the rowers and the public thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
The day was not only about competition but also about community spirit and giving back. Donations were collected for the Over and Above charity and the RNLI, further enhancing the event’s sense of camaraderie and support for important causes.
Overall, the Torridge Pilot Gig Club’s Regatta was a resounding success, showcasing spirited competition, delightful festivities, and a strong sense of community.
