St Goran Rowing Club is celebrating after the success of their recent Regatta, marking a triumphant return after a five-year break due to Covid, fog and wind. Blessed with beautiful weather, the event saw the participation of 22 rowing clubs from across the region, creating a day filled with thrilling races, camaraderie, and community spirit.
Overall winners on the day were Charlestown followed by Mounts Bay in second position and River Teign in third place.

St Goran Gig Club kindly shared their experience of the day with us and this is their account of how the day unfolded.
The anticipation leading up to the regatta was palpable, and the event did not disappoint. Clear skies and calm waters provided perfect conditions for the races, allowing rowers to showcase their skills and spectators to enjoy the competition.
Highlights of the day included fiercely contested races across all categories, with rowers giving their all in pursuit of victory. Off the water, attendees enjoyed a range of activities, delicious food, a performance from a local band, and the traditional bale tossing as well as the opportunity to reconnect with friends and fellow rowers.

St Goran Rowing Club would like to extend its gratitude to all the clubs that participated and made this event possible.
There was much dedication and sportsmanship displayed by all teams as we trialled the CPGA’s new race rules.
We are also deeply grateful for our volunteers and the local community for their support at the BBQ, cake stall, raffle and bar. Their contributions were instrumental in ensuring the regatta’s success and creating a memorable experience for all involved.
As we reflect on this year’s achievements, St Goran Rowing Club is excited to continue building on this momentum. Plans are already underway for next year’s regatta. We are committed to making it an even bigger and better event.
Thank you once again to everyone who supported and participated. We look forward to welcoming you back next year for another unforgettable day on the water.
