Maisie’s Mission For WPGC 2024

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to chat with Maisie, the mastermind behind Traceless Designs, the official provider of merchandise for the 2024 World Pilot Gig Championships.

Hi I’m Maisie, the founder of Traceless Designs.

When I was approached by St Mary’s Gig Club to provide the official merchandise for the World Pilot Gig Championships, I was excited by the opportunity to make a clothing range that not only gives back to the gig rowing community and event financially, but also a range that has sustainability at its core.  One of the key values of Traceless Designs is to source and make ethical and environmentally conscious products for people to enjoy for years to come.

I started Traceless Designs at the age of 17, and have been based at Phoenix Craft Studios on St Marys since 2018. I have enjoyed the roller-coaster of building my business and watching my designs and visions come to life! As a rower myself, my goal for the WPGC merch was to combine designs and colours that I love and capture the essence of rowing and the islands. 

The World Pilot Gig Championships means many things to different people, whether it’s the love of the sport and competing, gathering around with friends and family, or memories of loved ones, my aim was to create clothing items that capture the feeling of the event for years to come. We all have those garments that take us right back to a specific time and place and it’s an honour to be able to create these for you all this year.

As a small independently run business with a team of one (plus a few amazing friends and family members) I have been reliant on pre orders for this first year. From Wednesday the 1st of May and throughout the weekend, I will be based by Holgate’s Green where people can come and collect their pre-orders and buy the remaining limited merchandise for 2024. 

I want to thank everyone for their support this year and look forward to providing you with more ethically designed, sourced and made WPGC merchandise in the coming years!
