The final regatta of the new South Devon Winter League took place on a generally calm day with a mix of sun, rain, and mist.
Despite the sporadic weather, a considerable number of spectators attended throughout the day. Crews from Yealm, Salcombe, Dart, Paignton, Teign, and Brixham raced the straight 1.8 kilometre course.

The results were as follows:
Men’s Super Vets – Dart
Dart had the winning time of 8 minutes 28 seconds with Brixham second in 8 minutes 46 seconds and Yealm finished third in a time of 9 minutes 01 seconds.
Men’s Vets – Dart
This was a close race, with all six boats in contention. It was Dart who crossed the line first in a winning time of 8 minutes 40 seconds, Yealm in second with 8 minutes 48 seconds and Salcombe close third with 8 minutes 49 seconds.
Men’s B – Dart
Dart once again showcased their speed in a strong time of 9 minutes 11 seconds with Salcombe finishing second in 9 minutes 32 seconds and Yealm third in 9 minutes 53 seconds.
Men’s A – Dart
The final men’s event saw Dart take a clean sweep with a winning time of 8 minutes 32 seconds ahead of the five other crews in this race. Teign followed in second place in a time of 8 minutes 39 seconds and Brixham in third, finishing in 9 minutes exactly.
Juniors – Brixham
Brixham Juniors continued their winning streak racing against Dart and two Yealm crews who also participated.
Mixed Masters – Teign
Six crews took part in the Mixed Masters category. It was another tightly contested race with Teign finishing in 10 minutes 41 seconds, followed by Salcombe in 10 minutes 43 seconds and Yealm in 10 minutes 55 seconds.
Novices – Brixham
Six Novice crews battled it out in another close race with only 7 seconds separating first and second place. Brixham had the winning time of 11 minutes 38 seconds, Dart took second place and Paignton finished third.
Women’s Masters – Brixham
Two Women’s Masters crews went head to head in a Brixham vs Brixham race. The winning time was 12 minutes 10 seconds and runners up had a time of 12 minutes.26 seconds.
Women’s Super Vets – Teign
Only 24 seconds separated the fastest crews in this race. Teign crossed the line in 9 minutes 10 seconds closely followed by Dart, Salcombe and Brixham in 9 minutes 34 seconds.
Women’s B – Teign
Seven crews took to the course in the Women’s B category but it was Teign who once again showed their dominance finishing in a time of 9 minutes 45 seconds followed by Salcombe, Dart, Paignton and Brixham who crossed the line in very close succession.
Women’s A – Brixham
Brixham took the top spot in the Women’s A race, finishing in a respectable 9 minutes 34 seconds. Teign finished close behind in second place in 9 minutes 45 seconds and Dart finished third in 9 minutes 55 seconds.
Women’s Vets – Salcombe
The final race of the day generated a lot of excitement, six crews fought hard but it was Salcombe who crossed the line first only 2 seconds ahead of Brixham.
