Every year Concept 2 runs the Virtual Team Challenge from the 1-31st of January. The aim is for participants to complete as many metres as possible on the RowErg, SkiErg and BikeErg as a team.

Exmouth Gig Club takes part in the Virtual Team Challenge every year to support their winter training in preparation for the World Pilot Gig Championships.

“With 20 of us signed up we’ve already cracked 1 million metres!” Nicola Price, Exmouth

Nicola told us that it is a great incentive to achieve those extra metres on the ergo. An overall score board is produced based on metres entered weekly, giving teams an overall ranking. Individual team members have their own online logbooks to see how their submission compares to the rest of their team.

“How we achieve the metres is determined by what training plan each crew is following, this could include a long UT2 row or shorter sharper AT sessions. All metres count!” Nicola Price

Well done to everyone that participated. We look forward to hearing the final results of the challenge.

If you think your club may be interested in entering into a similar challenge, head over to the Concept 2 website for daily, weekly, monthly or yearly events. There you will find both individual and team challenges which will certainly add some excitement into your winter training.
