Mevagissey Rowing Club held their annual regatta on 24th June and the weather conditions were perfect. 15 clubs were in attendance on the day for a full day packed of racing in absolutely perfect racing conditions.
The club offered the usual Ladies and Men’s A crew, B crew , under 14’s, 16’s junior crews and Vets/Supervets category.
Novices were also able to take part in their own category making it a perfect opportunity for novices to get stuck in and experience competitive racing at its best.
At the end of the day, mixed races took part with men and women able to row in mixed crews for competitive racing which was won by Looe in Currah’s Pride.
The overall results were:
- 1st – Newquay Rowing Club in Spy
- 2nd – Brixham Gig Club in Florence
- 3rd – Cadgwith Gig Club in Buller
After the racing was done, there was fun off the water in a tug of war game which was won by the Brixham ladies!
