Looe Gig Club held their annual regatta on 17th June with perfect conditions in the bay, calm waters and beautiful sunshine.
15 clubs were in attendance on the day and a great racing was had by all. It was lovely to see categories for all abilities on the day and for such great club spirits.
The overall winning crews were as follows:
- 1st overall were Caradon Gig Club in Amazon
- 2nd overall was Cotehele Gig Club in Govenek
- 3rd overall was Looe in Currah’s Pride
Once the races were finished, clubs were invited to take place in a final 5km course around the Islands:
- 1st – Ladies Bristol Gig Club in Concorde
- 2nd –Brixham Gig Club in Florence
- 3rd – Bridport Gig Club
The Men’s round the Island race was won by Bristol Gig Club made up of a scratch crew from Bristol, Roseland and Ilfracombe. 2nd place was won by Porlock Weir Gig Club in Goose and in 3rd position was Bude in Bedehaven.
