Meet Bristol Gig Club

Bristol Gig Club was founded in 2007. Since then the Club has become well established and respected. We now have over 150 members.

We row in Bristol’s floating harbour which means that we can train all year round and even when it’s dark. We also row on the Avon river and under the landmark Clifton Suspension Bridge.

We foster a friendly and inclusive club in youth, social and competitive rowing and aim to continue to develop the club in terms of constitution and policies. Our goal is to continue to compete strongly and to offer gig rowing for all.

We have had fantastic results in many of the major championships and everyone who wants to compete is encouraged to do so, and is offered advanced training in terms of technique and fitness.

The club continues to grow and we are always open to new members, offering taster sessions to those new to the sport. Demand for places is often high so we actively manage and balance waiting lists with new memberships.

“Planning Potential” is one of our sponsors and we are actively seeking a main club sponsor. Our gigs are seen in the floating harbour all year round so sponsors have exposure to thousands of people on a daily basis.
