On the 25th July Maddie Weston from Boscastle Gig Club will be rowing solidly for 8 hours and 46 minutes.

This is all in aid of the Black Lives Matter charity.

Maddies aim is to raise as much money as possible for them so that they can bring justice to a world issue that is very close to her heart.

If you are not exactly sure what they do and why they need our help, here is a link to their website:

Maddie has decided to do this row on the 25th July because this will be the 2 month anniversary of George Floyd‘s death where he was murdered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States by Derek Chauvin (a police officer) with 3 other officers on side.

Maddie also got the time from this event as Derek Chauvin had his knee on George Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes 46 second whilst he cried out to them, telling them he couldn’t breath.

How you can get involved as well as donations –

To everyone who would like to join in please do !

You don‘t have to do hours worth of work. Any support you can give is greatly received, so if you can only do 5 minutes then please do. You also DON’T have to row. You can bike, run or anything you can think of, please if you can, get involved.

Maddie is hoping to do a live video during her row.
