A student called Billy Jane from Exeter University needs the gig rowing communities help. Billy is currently the men’s captain at Cadgwith Gig Club.
Recently Billy has been selected for Exeter University 8+ crew and hope to qualify and race at Henley Royal Regatta in a few weeks time. Billy is a novice to this sport this year so this is an amazing achievement. To qualify for this Billy had to compete against many senior squad members as well as shake off some gig rowing habits.
Billy has just finished his first year at university and this year has been amazing for Billy as he achieved a BUCS medal, rowed on the Thames in the Head of the River Race and now he has got a seat in the Temple Challenge Cup crew for Henley Royal Regatta. Billy and his crew are racing at Marlow regatta on Saturday which determines whether they pre-qualify for Henley and if not the crew will race in qualifiers the weeks after.
Billy needs you help to raise money to rent a fast enough boat to qualify for the event.
