Four South West ladies proving ordinary people can do extraordinary things by rowing 3000 Miles across the Atlantic for three local charities at the end of 2019. These are charities that anyone of us or our families could need in our lifetime: Cornwall Blood Bikes, Carefree and Exmouth & Lympstone Hospiscare.
Three of the team are gig rowers from Cape Cornwall and Mevagissey, and one rower was a non-rower until recently started in Exmouth.
The team hope to break at least two world records: the cumulative oldest ladies crew and the first hearing impaired rower to cross the Atlantic. All money raised will ultimately go to the charities as it will initially be used to buy the boat and safety equipment, that will be sold after the race with all money going between the three causes.
They have managed to just secure their boat purchase, with the boat currently taking on the challenge and currently in the middle of the Atlantic, and will be delivered in March 2019.
They are looking for all the help they can get, so even if you can share the link or even donate – you can find the crowdfunding link here:
