After successful runs of our drone coverage at 3 rivers, Dart and the World Pilot Gig Championships we begin our summer regatta coverage at the idyllic small north coast Cornwall village of Boscastle.
Its rugged cliffs and historic harbour makes the perfect amphitheater for hosting gig racing as the echoes of the clicking thole pins reverberate off the cliff-side. With its fantastic view points and north coast swell, it makes for the perfect racing platform to both race in and watch.
We will be bringing the coverage race by race live to your mobile devices or laptops of this stunning location with permission of the National Trust. Boscastle & Crackington Gig Club Chairman, Phoebe Millar, said “Having drone coverage for Boscastle Regatta will not only allow us to be at the forefront of the drive to open up and promote gig rowing to a wider audience, but it enables us to showcase the very best of our sport. Boscastle is a National Trust location, set along the stunning north Cornish coast, and is probably best known for the devastating floods that caused widespread damage in 2004. Once the cameras departed and the restoration of the village was complete, we were left with a strong community and a beautiful location from which to row. We are delighted today to be able to showcase our traditional Cornish sport in such a beloved location”.
