A crew from Lifton, and part of Tamar & Tavy Gig Club, will be rowing this year’s Great River Race in London to raise money and awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.
They are on facebook Lifton Self Preservation Society and have a donation page at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=liftonselfpreservationsociety2017&isTeam=true
They will be in the IRON MAID which has been kindly loaned by Old Quay Gig Club , on St Martins IOS.
Brian Nobbs, the boat builder who told us about this, says “I am sure anyone who has been touched by this dreadful illness will consider supporting them. We ask other crews rowing to cheer them on as they only started training /rowing in May, and just love the sport !!”

As a follow up, the Lifton Lads raised £8235 for their sponsored row in the Great River Race and a cheque was presented to the MNDA at a gathering in the Arundell Arms Lifton on 28 Sept 2017.
