RECENTLY FORMED CLUB SEEKS LOAN OF GRP TRAINING GIG
BOS Pilot Gigs was formed in Burnham-on- Sea, Somerset in September 2015. In November they took delivery of a first boat – a second-hand GRP training gig Jayne Campbell (formerly Ferryboat) – from Helford River Gig Club.
Interest has since greatly exceeded their expectations and, despite rowing at every opportunity, they are already struggling to accommodate all rowers.
Mark Rennie from the club said “We need a second training gig urgently and are working hard to raise funding for this. In the meantime, we would be very interested to hear from any club which might have a GRP training gig and set of oars they would consider loaning to us for a period of several months. A trailer is desirable but not essential.”
