Steve Lock from the Bermuda Pilot Gig Club has been in touch to tell us that his crews are now getting desperate in their search for a boat to borrow to race at next summer’s World Championships on Scilly.
35 members & supporters of the club have already committed to $100,000 dollars worth of accommodation and flights but they are still looking for at least one gig to loan.
One club in Devon has kindly offered them use of a boat but this leaves that donor club without a training gig. A solution would be for another mainland club to lend them a GRP boat for use next spring.
Could your club help out? With either lending a wooden or GRP gig? Their ideal is to race two wooden gigs at the Championships.
Please get in touch with Steve via appledorequay@yahoo.com
The Bermuda team will happily cover all necessary costs and pay to use the gig(s).
