Dear Club Secretary
Mixed & Veterans Championships, Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June 2015
Thank you for your Club’s entry into this year’s Mixed & Veterans Championships. The Championships will be run from Jubilee Green, as last year and will coincide with the Saltash Town Regatta, so there will be plenty to keep you occupied between races. If you are intending to stay overnight on the Friday or Saturday, please see the camping and B&B details (also attached to this email).
Please see car park details on the Park & Ride map, enclosed. Car parking spaces at Jubilee Green are only available to those towing gigs this year, – those clubs will be issued with car parking permits for their towers separately.
Provisional first round draws and the race order are also attached. The coxes meeting will take place at 8.30 a.m., with the first race starting at 9.00 a.m. prompt, on both days.
Due to the high number of races to get through on both days, each race will be started promptly at 10 minute intervals, except the finals which will be run individually at the end of each day. If you are not on the water for your heat/race, the starter will not wait for you. We would very much appreciate your co-operation with us in this regard, to ensure that the event runs as smoothly and as timely as possible.
We appreciate that there may be a cross over of rowers in races and where possible we will try our best to accommodate rowers that are rowing in more than one category – if this is the case for your crew(s), please speak to the organisers on the day. We will not, however, be able to wait for equipment (so please bring enough oars to accommodate all your crews) and coxes – if you have someone who is coxing more than one crew or coxing and rowing, you will need to have arrangements in place in the event of races crossing over. Unfortunately we (Caradon) will not be able to loan coxes this year as we have too much to do organising the event.
Finally, on behalf of Caradon Gig Club and the CPGA, we look forward to welcoming you to Saltash on 27th & 28th June and hope that you enjoy the weekends racing.
Kind regards.
Leanne Woodward
