Exmouth Gig Club are hoping to win funding to enable them to order a new racing gig.
They have taken the opportunity to apply for a Community Funding competition from Engage Mutual Assurance. Exmouth is one of the 272 nominated and approved projects.
Theirs is the only Gig Club entered and they are hoping to win a grant of £25,000 and use it to buy a new gig and a proper set of oars.
There is another competition in the second half of the year and it is customers of theirs that are able to nominate a project for funding. Perhaps other gig clubs can take a look at putting forward their own entries next time around.
