The wait is finally over, the 2013 World Pilot Gig Championships has arrived.
The racing kicks off tonight with the veterans races. Mount’s Bay ladies will be looking to retain their title after a convincing win last year. Roseland men will also look to be holding on to their title but will face some stiff competition from Flushing & Mylor, Caradon and Mount’s Bay.
The beach is already filling up with gigs, rowers and supporters. Crews were out yesterday enjoying the sunshine.
The forecast for the weekend is dry with possible wind.
