British Rowing Safeguarding and Protecting Children Level 2
We are now able to offer you the opportunity to gain this CPGA recognised Certificate which forms part of the Level 2 Coaching Course. In this instance the course is offered as a stand-alone workshop for those who have either missed this session, or who do not wish to do the full Coaching course. Those in your club, such as Welfare Officers and those working with children or vulnerable adults may benefit from updating your skills in this area. Even if you do not have Junior crews, your club will have families with children, and awareness of the issues could protect you all and make you a safe club. The course is £15 per head.
It will include:
Awareness of child abuse and common indicators
Awareness of the legal framework for safeguarding
How to respond if you receive an allegation from a child
Key aspects of the procedures you would follow to receive, record and report allegations
Know where to find information on CPGA policies and procedures
Be able to identify good and poor practice
Recognise what makes a safe, effective and child friendly club
Dates: Wednesday 9th Feb 6 -9pm or Wed 14th Sept. 6-9pm 2011
Venue: Sea Cadets, Barrack Road (The Nothe), Weymouth
*or contact me if you wish to have a workshop nearer your club (min. 10 participants)
