SUMMARY:Eden Indoor Gig Rowing Championships
DESCRIPTION:Come along on 24 February and to compete in the first ever World Indoor Gig Rowing Championships – we’ll have sessions suitable for every ability. \nAbout the activities\nIndividual time trials\nRowers in different categories will be able to compete against each other in time-based trials in the Mediterranean Biome\, so that we can crown the first-ever world champions. Rowers will pit themselves over two race distances of 1000m\, which will see the best qualify for the final\, a 2000m shootout for the ultimate accolade of standing at the top of the podium. Please book ahead for this activity. \nMixed team relays\nA pure test of teamwork – work together to finish a 4000m distance in the fastest time –  does your relay team have what it takes to master the changeover and come out on top? Please book ahead for this activity\, which takes place in the Mediterranean Biome. \nRainforest rowing challenge\nWe’re working with Snapfitness on this special challenge; put your rowing skills to the test in the steamy Rainforest Biome (in the Palms area). The Panama Canal is a total of 77km; how far do you think you could row in five minutes? Simply sign up on the day. \nStuff for spectators\nThere’ll be plenty to do and see for non-rowers too – come along to cheer on the rowers\, learn about the rich history and craftsmanship of gig boats in Cornwall\, and hear about the vital part they played in the working and recreational life of the county. \nHow to take part\nWe have eight categories for individuals to sign up to\, or you can sign up as part of a relay team. (You can sign up for the Rainforest relay challenge on the day.) \nPrices for each of the categories are as follows (inclusive of entry to Eden): \n\nMale/Female Under 16s (Year 9 upwards): £7.50\nMale/Female Open: £10\nMale/Female Vets (40-50 years): £10\nMale/Female Super Vets (50+ years): £10\n\nA pasty and a pint (or equivalent) is included in the price of your adult or child ticket! \n\nRelay team (four adults): £20\n\nBook online here \nWatch your team or friends for free with an Eden entry ticket or Locals’ Pass. \nTimings for the day\nThese timings are for guidance only\, and are subject to change on the day. \nIndividual time trials \nRound 1 trials: 10am – 12.30pm \nRound 2 trials: 12.50pm – 2.40pm \nFinals and presentations: 3pm onwards \nMixed team relays: 11am – 2pm \nRainforest rowing challenge: 10am – 3.30pm \n\n\n	Related
