About

The Number One Resource for Pilot Gig Rowers

Since it was launched in 2009 GigRower has had over one million visits.

It’s crammed full of information and news for the estimated 10,000 active GigRowers around the world.

Over 60% of our traffic is now on mobile devices (phones and tablets) so we have built the new site (relaunched in December 2015) on a mobile framework. This means it appears differently on all browser sizes and makes it easy for you to check out the latest news and results whether you are at home on the laptop or travelling back from an event on your phone.

The original site we built is still one of the most popular, and people liked it because it was so simple. We have gone back to those roots and made the new site as simple as possible, with a clean new navigation and page layout.

List of clubs.

You will find a list of all Gig Clubs here as a map, and here as an A-Z list. Each club then has its own page with club information as well as a list of latest news related to that club and a list of their boats. Check out your club page now, but note that during December 2014 and January 2015 they are still under construction so if you have anything to add then just drop us an email.

A page for every gig.

You will find an A-Z list of all the gigs we know about, like a page for each boat with a photo, year built, builder and any other info we have. Again we are missing some info here so if you want to send us some extra pictures, history or info about your gig then just drop us an email.

A page for every builder.

We have built a page for every gig builder with the info we have for them and a list of gigs they have built. Again these pages are under construction so if you are a builder and want to update your page then get in touch.

Loads of news, results and articles.

Since the site went live we have published over 1,332 articles and they are all on the new site, a massive archive of information you can search through by keyword or category. Make sure you let us know your club news, results and gossip so we can keep the site up to date.

The all new GigRower Diary.

Our new diary page is one of the most popular on the site. We have listed the dates and info on all the events we know about so far but if yours is missing then please drop us an email. Even if you only know the date then we would like to know. You can view the events as a list or calendar and filter by keyword or month.

You can advertise on GigRower.

With over 100,000 visitors a year the website is a great place to promote your business. We have adverts available on all the pages starting from just £45 a year which includes a banner and block ad. We will also publish an article about your business which can help with your SEO. Email us if you are interested.

Keep commenting.

Anyone can comment on an article on the website and so far we have had over 1,300 rowers’ comments on articles. Get involved in the conversation and add your view as a comment at the bottom of the article.

Social media.

We are regularly Tweeting and Facebooking. Keep up to date with GigRower news and follow us on Twitter here, or like our Facebook page here.

The magazine.
