Lord Nelson Cup & Trafalgar Sprints

This year’s Lord Nelson cup gig rowing race will take part on Sunday the 27th of August 2017
Trafalgar sprint gig rowing races on Monday the 28th August 2017 as part of the famous Burnham week.
Burnham week are celebrating 125 years of the Burnham Week Regatta and will run from 26 August 2017 until the 2nd September 2017
The Lord Nelson Cup course is a 6.2nm town course so plenty of on shore supporters all along the Quay. This is a mass start race with plenty of excitement as we expect to host around 50 boats. There will be trophies for the fastest men’s, ladies, mixed, juniors and the overall fastest winning the prestigious Nelson Cup. The start and finish line is from the Crouch Yacht Club with food and bar available all day.
Rowers are welcome to arrive the day before to launch their boats ready for the race. There is plenty of accommodation, restaurants and live music during the whole of Burnham week.
The following day on Monday the 28th of August we will be moving to the Royal Burnham Yacht Club for a day of sprint racing. There will be separate men’s, ladies, mixed and juniors races of about 1.5nm. This is also part of Burnhams Quay day so will be plenty of entertainment to enjoy including live music BBQ and special guests (last year saw captain jack sparrow take to the water)
Don’t forget that all the Yacht Clubs in Burnham on crouch will be open and serving refreshments during the week. There will also be an events programme published soon with live music and entertainment available all week.
