Daily Management of the Site:

Toby Budd

After rowing for a few years with  Flushing & Mylor Men’s A crew, Toby went to the Newquay Ladies County Championships in 2008 with his RIB and camera.  When he got home he needed somewhere to post his pictures and so set up a GigRower Facebook group and registered the GigRower domain.  By Christmas, with help from Jeremy Stonehouse (fellow crew rower and computer wizz), a basic blog was in place.

By the time of the World Championships in Scillies the following year almost 1,000 rowers a day were logging onto the site.  Toby’s wife Lena has been part of the winning Falmouth Ladies A crew for many years and so Toby is now also a member there. He does not have much time for rowing himself these days but takes a keen interest in the sport and is passionate about promoting it through the GigRower site. In 2010 he and Jeremy were presented with an award by British Rowing for their contribution through GigRower to promoting the sport.

Celia Fraser

Celia has helped contribute to GigRower for many years and is now Content Manager. She has been in the Ladies A crew at Flushing & Mylor Gig Club and has reached the Scillies final every year since 2013, finishing 5th in 2015.

Jeremy Stonehouse

Jeremy helped originally set up GigRower with Toby and helped contribute to the site for many years – particularly the technical articles and GigRower league system. He is now on hand for IT support. He no longer rows but coaches and coxes occasionally. For many years including 2014 he has been in the men’s final at Scilly and finished 2nd and 3rd in the Vets race a number of times.

Tommy Tonkins

Tommy first joined GigRower to take photos and videos at the Scilly Championships in 2009. At that point he’d never been in a gig. But the event got him hooked. He now rows for Flushing & Mylor Men’s A crew. He is a social media and marketing expert and is always keen to help promote GigRower whenever he can.

Ryan Watts

Ryan rows for Mount’s Bay Gig Club. Whilst a student at University College Falmouth studying Digital Media he helped keep GigRower up to date and still contributes to the site.

Rhiannon Bailey

Rhiannon is British Rowing Participation Manager for the West of England and regulars contributes to GigRower. She rows for Caradon Gig Club.

A member of Caradon Gig Club, John took many of the photos posted on GigRower in the early days.
