Langstone Cutters Gig Club are proud of club member Mark Brownjohn (pictured 2nd from right in main photo) and his crew mates Roger, Dan and Will, who have completed their amazing 3000 mile Atlantic row finishing in Antigua.
The ‘Wight Lightning’ team from the Isle of Wight crossed the finish line of the 2017 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge on Sunday 21st January after rowing for 37 days, 22 hours and 32 minutes. Congratulations to Will, Mark, Dan and Roger on their epic crossing- a heroic effort whilst also raising funds for two fantastic local charities; Ability Dogs 4 Young People & The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
Mark also celebrated his 60th birthday two days after arriving in Antigua. Hopefully this will inspire other Cornish Pilot gig rowers, both ladies and men, to take part next year’s Atlantic Challenge. Are you ready?
