Tamar and Tavy Gig Club are very proud to announce that they have won the CPGA’s Lyzie Pyne Trophy at this years AGM.
One of the main aims of the CPGA is to preserve the heritage of the gigs themselves, this trophy is awarded to the Club who’s boats have been considered the best maintained and ‘turned out’ throughout the year, so congratulations to Tamar & Tavy’s Bosun Becky Masters and all her team who help her with all the jobs large or small that need to be done to keep their boats looking so good, the team is Brian N, Bruce H, Rob MS, Alistair M, Johnathan O, Dan P, Martin P and Jon R.
Like their very own little elves they clean, repair, sand and paint often with no notice at all and the boats are always ready to go by the next training session. It is the very nature of the boats that they occasional take damage and without a dedicated team of ‘fixers’ clubs wouldn’t be able to maintain the high level of use that the boats get. Tamar & Tavy are delighted that their hard work has been recognised in this way.
Keep up the good work!
