London Cornish Pilot Gig Club to launch new wooden gig

The London Cornish Pilot Gig Club are pleased to invite all gig rowers to the launch of the new Cornish Pilot Gig, Hurricane.  She has been commissioned by a crew of club members and is the first built by Patrick Bird.
This is a huge occasion and milestone for so many involved, including the CPGA and all clubs.  Since becoming an associate of the CPGA in January 2016 the LCPGC has quickly grown to over 90 members and has opened up CPG rowing to so many people, from the South West and further afield – and once they give it a go, they just can’t stop.  Ariane, spokesperson for the club said “We have been in contact with countless gig clubs, and have received nothing but encouragement and positivity.  The LCPGC would love anyone who can, to come to the launch so that we can demonstrate just how much CPG rowing means to its members, and how important the support has been from all clubs over the past two years.”
Date: Saturday 25th November 2017
Location: Richmond, South West London
Timings: Arrival from 11.30am with a midday launch
Catering: We will provide beers, cakes, teas/coffees etc.  There are pubs everywhere!!
By a happy coincidence the Cornish pirates are playing in Richmond on the same day, so there should be plenty of Cornish good will and cheer floating about.
