The money would fund four Concept 2 rowing machines to enable the club to reach out and take their passion for rowing out to the whole community. Alan Robinson, Club Chairman said “We have over 130 members aged from 12 to 84 years. However, we know that there are many more local people out there who, given the chance to try the sport and join us rowing in the amazing waters of Chichester and Langstone Harbours, would love it as much as we all do. These rowing machines would enable us to reach out to them.” The Club which is the first Cornish Pilot Gig Club in Hampshire was formed in 2013 and in addition to offering year-round rowing from their base in Northney also sends crews to the annual Cornish Pilot Gig Championships in the Isles of Scilly and to summer regattas along the Jurassic Coast.
