On July 8th, the Island Voyagers set off on their attempt to beat the record to Row Around Britain (which stands at 26 days). More than 2000 miles lay ahead of them.

According to their supporters back home, they are doing really well and are making good progress. Flo Le Gassick, crew member Nigel’s wife, said “Although they are not on track to make the record they are very positive about how they are progressing. They’re all doing well although they are pretty tired as they are mostly rowing in 1 hour shifts, meaning they only have 1 hour rest at a time. Also they have decided to cut down their food rations to one hot meal a day instead of 2, as they are predicting that it’ll take them closer to 40 days.”

The best place to get the most up to date info is on their Facebook page – island voyagers – or their website for the tracker: islandvoyagers.co.uk
