Castle to Crane is the biggest open water rowing race to be held in Scotland and is part of the ‘ClydeBuilt Festival’ this autumn. 13 miles of fierce racing from Dumbarton Castle to the Finnieston Crane in the heart of Glasgow on September 23rd.
The race will be open to any fixed seat, coxed rowing boats of at least four oars. Full rules of racing will be published on the official Castle to Crane website soon.
The route of the race will pass many iconic places on the Clyde: Dumbarton Castle itself; under the Erskine bridge; past old ship yards and functioning commercial docks.
Entry is by application and we’ll be charging £20 per rower, with coxes and passengers going free.
