Tall Junior Rowers – Try out for British Rowing ‘Start Programme’

645 0

A fabulous opportunity for anyone who thinks they have the potential to be the future of British Rowing!

This message has been sent on to us from Tom Pattichis, coach, who will be in Devon & Cornwall in the next couple of weeks.

“We are visiting the region next week to carry out testing for the GB Rowing Start programme. We are looking for those with the physical potential to be Olympic rowers in the future.

Primarily this is aimed at non-rowers, but if clubs have any particularly tall juniors then this would be an opportunity to get them tested while we’re in the area, if they are interested. The target group are those aged between 14 and 18, with boys needing to be a minimum of 188cm (6ft2) and girls a minimum of 178cm (5ft10).

We will be at the regional indoor rowing championships in Plymouth on Tuesday 28th February, and are carrying out some testing on Wednesday 1st March in the Wadebridge area. We have some free time between these sessions so may be able to fit others in depending on location.

If anyone has juniors who may be interested in being tested to find out their potential, then please contact me directly and we can discuss further.

Thanks.

Tom Pattichis
