The following message has been sent to all clubs from the CPGA regarding a Special General Meeting to be held at Caradon next weekend. Please note that the name of your club’s representative must be sent to Anne Curnow Care ahead of the meeting:
“At the Annual General Meeting held on the 17th January 2016, a resolution was passed by the members to dissolve the current Cornish Pilot Gig Association and transfer the assets and liabilities to the Cornish Pilot Gig Association CIO (once registered with the Charity Commission) at a date to be confirmed by the executive committee in due course. The Cornish Pilot Gig Association CIO will have similar objects to the current CPGA unincorporated association.
At a Special General Meeting to be held on Saturday 5th March 2016, 10am at Saltash Sailing Club, in accordance with clause 8.2 of the current constitution a resolution to dissolve the current CPGA unincorporated association and to transfer the assets and liabilities to the Cornish Pilot Gig Association CIO (once registered with the Charity Commission) at a date to be confirmed by the executive committee in due course will be voted upon.
The resolution can be passed by the consent of at least 75% of full members present at the Special General Meeting.
Can we please remind you that if your chairperson is unable to attend a nominated club member may attend and vote on the clubs behalf. Please forward, in advance the name of the person and their role. A register will be taken on the day and it must therefore correspond (registration will be prior to the SGM and this will be possible from 9:45). Please make sure that the person attending is representing the views of your club.”
