The Great Big Cornish Gig Project have nearly finished building their wooden gig and need help in naming her.
The building project, run by the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, has seen wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel build a Cornish pilot gig. The gig will be officially launched at Falmouth on 16th March at 4pm and from 2nd April will be rowed to the Isles of Scilly by a team of veterans. Once they reach the Scillies, the Help for Heroes Gig Rowing Team will take ownership of the gig and will row it in the World Pilot Gig Championships.
Name suggestions need to be sent to email@example.com or entered on the project’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/BigGigProject
