A great opportunity for your new young rowers to compete
Cornwall Sports Partnership have sponsored an event at this years Looe Rowing Club regatta. This will take place on the 3rd August. This is linked to the Sportivate programme which aims to get more people aged 14-25 years old in to sport. Many gig clubs have benefitted from funding through Sportivate over the past two years and this challenge is a chance to celebrate just that.
Who can take part?
Rowers in the Sportivate challenge must be:
- Aged 14-25 years old
- No A crew rowers allowed
- Any combination of gender (separate prizes for all male, mixed and all female)
This could be a great opportunity to get your new ‘learn to row’ or novice rowers out on the water.
What could I win?
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd – as well as goodies for all those taking part.
How do I enter?
You enter on the day when your club registers – the race will run like all the other races on the day with clubs entering crews to race in their own boats.
How do I find out if my club can apply for Sportivate funding?
A rep from Cornwall Sports Partnership will be there on the day, in the Cornwall Sports Partnership gazebo to tell you more! In the mean time please check out http://www.cornwallsportspartnership.co.uk/sportivate
The following are just a few clubs that have benefitted from funding:
- Flushing & Mylor
- Mounts Bay
