Adaptive rowing is rowing for persons with a disability and is about removing barriers to participation in the sport for anyone who has a physical, sensory or learning impairment.
The role of medical classifier is to assess an athlete’s strength, range of movement and coordination against a set framework at classification workshops usually held on a weekend from a half day to a full day. The commitment is a full weekend to get trained up with perhaps one or two classification workshops in the region per year. At present we have no medical classifiers in the region.
