Round 2

Quarter Finals

Plate Final

Heats and berths for Round 1 will be drawn on Weds evening and published on the CPGA website.  There will be a maximum of 4 gigs in each race (number will depend upon entries) and races will be timed from round 2 onwards.  Each crew will be racing in a minimum of 3 races (maximum of 5) and all crews will be given an overall placing at the end of the event.

The gates at Stithians are opened at 8.30 and we are asking for boats to arrive as soon as they open please so that we can get them on the water.  The Coxswains meeting will take place at 9.00am, with racing to commence at 9.15.  We appreciate that some of you are travelling a long distance and may be in one of the later races in the first round.  However, it is important that at least one representative from each club attends the coxwains meeting (coxswains only) as this meeting gives you important information about racing rules and safety.  A register will be taken so that this can be checked.
Gigs of a similar age/speed will be provided through the CPGA (our thanks to those clubs who are kindly entrusting us with their boats). You will be required to provide your own oars, seats, pins and VHF Radio. All gigs must carry a working and turned on VHF Radio, the radio being the responsibility of the coxwain. All crews and coxswains must wear lifejackets (provided by your own club).  Your Public Liability Insurance should be registered with the CPGA secretary prior to the event, as should all rowers participating in the event.
Parking is free and Stithians Lake have their own caterers (based in the permanent café) but will also be putting on a BBQ/Food Marquee for the event.  The Golden Lion Pub at the entrance to the site also comes very well recommended.
Presentations will take place shortly after the finals (presented by Dr Mike Ripley, Trustee of Cornwall Heritage Trust).
We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday
