Flushing & Mylor celebrate grant award

1776 0

Flushing & Mylor Pilot Gig Club is celebrating the news that they have just received £10,000 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Small Grants Programme. This is the maximum amount of money ever paid to clubs who apply to this scheme. The grant is to be spent on boats and equipment for our Junior rowers. Local children of all ages will benefit from the investment throughout 2011 and for many years to come, with the aim of  encouraging more of them to get out on to the water, keep fit and maintain the future of gig rowing.

Picture: Marianne Groen (Juniors Co-ordinator) and Rodney Myers (Chairman) join some of the club’s Juniors in looking forward to the day the grant money will provide them with more suitable equipment for their age.
