– 12/Jun updates –

Turned out a perfect day for racing. There was a fair bit of a breeze out to sea with 28kts recorded at one time on the start boat. Many thanks to all those that took part, you make this sport the success story that it is! Good, hard racing and with amazingly close battles and finishes in the sprints later in the day.

– 11/Jun updates –

10:20 :: Yes, beach webcam shows the horizon angled up right-to-left. It makes for a slower first leg but downhill all the way on the return leg.

08:45 :: We’re still looking at light North winds and plenty of sunshine so all systems go at the moment for the event.

– 10/Jun updates –

08:00 :: Live – beach webcam

07:45 :: Looking good. Saturday fcast 10-15mph NW, mostly sunny and 16 degrees with any swell dying down by Friday afternoon.

– 9/Jun updates –

14:45 :: Current thoughts are for the East winds to clear through Thurs/Fri midday then back NW and 13-16mph.

10:45 :: BBC and MetOffice forecasts just in and now giving East winds for Saturday/Sunday. Not what we want at all as the busy beach is very exposed to Easterlies, so let’s see how it changes on the next one. There’s a low pressure in Biscay that’s the culprit.

09:30 :: Latest forecast for Saturday 12th June is GOOD with light NorthWesterly 10mph, sunny giving calm water and a light offshore breeze. This means the very popular Gyllyngvase beach is likely to be packed with tourists sunning themselves so give yourselves plenty of time to get to the event.

    Hi, looking at the forecast it seems to have changed and they are giving a bit more wind now. It is a strong easterly at the moment -will it affect you? will Falmouth still be on?

    Thanks Helen, event is ON as of 08:45 this morning (Fri 11th). North winds are forecast to dominate although I agree there is a bit of East in them at the moment.
