Mayflower Offshore Rowing Club are staging the World Offshore Rowing Championships in October 23 – 25th. They have over 22 nations competing. The boats are quads, doubles and singles which have to conform to exact FISA (World Governing Body) specifications so the majority of British Club boats will not qualify.
But, on Sunday 25th they intend to stage a series of ‘open boat’ class races to showcase British Rowing. This would be open to the Gigs.
However, there are logistical problems in managing the number of boats and trailers entering the Queen Annes Battery Marina site in Plymouth. They anticipate over 100 FISA spec boats taking part in the World programme so space is crucial bearing in mind we only have two slipways. This is the basis of the discussion I would like to open up to CPGA if you would be interested.
If your club would like to enter can you contact the e-mail address as below, they will have to levy an entry fee of £10 per crew member
