11:09 Update – just arrived in St Mary’s harbour. New record time 3hrs 45mins (previous was around 4 hr 20 mins).
06:00 Good morning,
I am writing his post this morning from the Orca Sea Safaris RIB Seaquest of Falmouth as we round the Lizard at 30 knots en-route to Sennen Cove on Lands End.
When we arrive at Sennen we will be meeting up with Glenn Eldridge and Guy Blackford who will be attempting to break the record for paddling between Scilly & the mainland.
They are doing this to raise money for the Handstand, the appeal for Marshall Jason. Marshall celebrated his first birthday on 22 December. On Boxing Day, Marshall was rushed into hospital following an attack of Meningococcal Meningitis. Meningitis is a brutal and unforgiving disease. While Marshall has escaped brain damage he has had to have both his hands and both his legs amputated. Click here to find out more or donate money: http://www.handstand.org.uk/index.htm
You can follow the record attempt on the Orca blog here: http://kingharryscornwall.co.uk/ferries/orca/handstand
Onboard we have a Paul the photographer and a live mobile webcam and I will be updating the blog as the attempt goes on.
Enjoy your breakfast 😉
