Dear Gig Rowers,
It’s been almost a year since GigRower was set up and we would like to thank you all for your support ….. for sending in news, results and pics, for reporting on events, commenting on posts and for logging on.
Since it was launched 50,000 people have visited the site
Almost 200 posts have gone up on the site
Each day an average 350 rowers check the site for news, updates & results
The majority of users spend between 2 and 3 minutes on the site
Over 70% of rowers that use the site log on at least 3-4 times a week
The GigRower Facebook Group now has over 450 members
Over 2,000 + pics have now been uploaded to the Facebook Group
587 Gig Rowers have tagged themselves and friends over 4,300 times
Over 78,000 pics have been downloaded from the GigRower Flickr account
After some development work you are now able to purchase GigRower pics online and receive prints through the post. To check out this new feature take a look at last weeks ‘Buller Day’ pictures here. The whole backlog of GigRower photos will also be available to buy online shortly. Click here for more pics …
We were hoping to have ‘GigRower the Magazine’ out for this years Newquay Championships but it has been a busy year and so the annual 100 page magazine will now be launched next season. The magazine will be a round up of the gig racing season with reports and results from all events, it will also have technical articles, club news, rower profiles and a number of other interesting articles and features. If you are interested in writing for GigRower next year by reporting on events then please get in touch: [email protected]
Since it was launched the GigRower site has undergone continual development and thank you to Jeremy for all your help with these ongoing improvements. To help rowers find what they are looking for we have created two new pages, ‘Invites’ and ‘Results’. The new ‘Invites’ page lists all the event invitations we receive from club secretaries and the ‘Results’ page, as the name suggests, is where we you can find all the latest race reports and pictures.
That’s all for now, happy rowing and see you at Newquay if not before.
The GigRower Team 😉
