Update :: July 29th :: Rame Berth Sheets
Rame Gig Club would like to invite you to attend the next Tribute Challenge Series Cup event of this season.
To be held on Cawsand Beach on Saturday 1st August 2009.
Coxswain meeting 12.30pm. To be held on The Bound adjacent to the beach.
Racing to start 1.00pm prompt.
ALL GIGS MUST CARRY A WORKING VHF RADIO, THOSE WITHOUT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
The club are happy to include the C races but due to limited space on Cawsand Beach, We will have to restrict it to 1 gig per club. When registering your club, please indicate how many crews you would like to enter.
Please allow plenty of time for your journey to ensure the gigs can be unloaded safely and the events start on time. Drivers will be asked to take all trailers to the designated field a short distance away. Clubs are welcome to arrive the evening prior to the event but please contact us & let us know. The villages of Cawsand & Kingsand are very popular holiday destinations and we ask that you be aware that the narrow roads in and out of the area will be very busy. Also the beaches & The Square will be bustling very early on with people. Extra parking will be provided for all gig club cars and we suggest you use this area as the village car parks may be full. Clear signs will be posted from the Whitsand Bay junction by Tregantle Fort. Campers will be able to park at the campsite and walk the short distance down the hill. (See our website for map/directions). Any boats arriving after 12.00pm cannot be guaranteed to be on the water for the start of the racing at 1pm.
People towing the trailers will be guided in to Cawsand Square. Please cooperate with the traffic controllers as space is tight and the road very narrow. Clubs will be asked to remove their own gigs from their trailers although help will be on hand. Please bring your own trolleys with you if you can as this will speed up the process. Let us know if you can bring yours. We ask that cars dropping off people only do so in the car park above the Square to alleviate congestion in the gig drop off area as much as possible. Please consider car sharing where possible.
Public Liability Insurance
Please ensure all public liability insurances are sent to the CPGA secretary prior to the event. You must register your clubs interest in attending this event including crews expected to race by 24th July.
Presentations will be made directly after the racing. The raffle and programme prize draw will follow.
Evening entertainment will take place in the Gig Shed from 8pm. There will be a disco and bar in the shed itself but festivities will no doubt spill out in to The Square. Everyone is welcome but please ensure under 18’s are supervised.
Camping will be available at Maker Heights campsite. Please contact the centre directly to arrange camping. There are loo’s and showers and fantastic views at Maker. You can pitch a tent in the field above the Minnadhu with BBQ areas & great views over Plymouth Sound or clubs may wish to share one of the Nissan huts that sleep about 20 in dorm type accommodation with their own loo’s and showers. Check their website for full details or download a booking form from our website – Club events & forms > Regatta. If you want B&B, please look on the village website www.crabpot.co.uk
No dogs are allowed on Cawsand beach.
In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, please check the CPGA website on Friday 31st July after 7pm for further details. Rame Gig Club looks forward to seeing you all on Saturday 1st August. We hope everyone has an enjoyable day & evening.
