2009 sees a total of 105 gigs being shipped to the Islands for the World Championships.
All Gig Clubs have now been posted their pre-allocated shipping dates to Scilly with the Steam Ship Company. PLEASE make sure that the forms are returned to the Steamship Co (Not Anne @ the CPGA) ASAP.

Please be aware that until April the Ross Bridge is closed (This is the 44 foot swing bridge that opens to allow access to the Penzance Dry Dock) . Allow extra time for a detour route, I suggest the following but if you know a better route for towing a gig email me:
Shipping begins on the 2nd March with six (6) gigs on the Gry. The Gry then carries gigs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until the 23rd March – but not always six (6) it depends on the other cargo. On Monday 6th April the Scillonian III starts shipping gigs – three (3) per day, but she does not carry gigs every day. The Gry then carries gigs again from Friday 17th April – six (6) per sailing on Fridays and Monday. The final sailing of gigs to the Islands is Thursday 30th April.
Gigs begin their return on the 4th May and every sailing of the Gry and Steamship carries their full capacity so – six (6) and three (3) respectively with the final shipping home on Saturday 23rd May.
There is NO slack in the shipping, so it is important that you all make sure the gigs get to Penzance on time.
If there are any problems / questions please say so now not later as it will be too late to sort things out, email Anne CC @ the CPGA if you have any questions.
