MPM stands fo Muiden Pampus Muiden, a rowing race in Holland that follows a course around the island of Pampus and back again. Every year a handful of Gigs compete and the event is highly recommended, as well as rowing the event has a very social emphasis in the large beer/party tent.
Teams from outside Holland are invited to participate and share in the atmosphere that combines sportsmanship and plain fun. All rowers, male and female, will enjoy together with the population of Muiden two days of spectacular rowing on the open waters of the IJsselmeer.
The venue of this event is the Royal Netherlands Yacht Club (RNYC) in Muiden. The yachtclub is situated on the mouth of the river Vecht on the south coast of the IJsselmeer directly in front of the 14th century ‘Muiderslot’ castle. The town of Muiden lays approximately 15 miles South East of Amsterdam.
Could any teams planning to attend this year let me know or add a comment to this post.
